The internet is a wonderful invention,
but many people have no idea, or are
simply too afraid to use it.
Here is a very quick lesson on
using the internet.
To view the internet we use what
is called a "Browser."
There are many to choose from;
Windows comes with Internet
Explorer. There are others -- Firefox,
Safari, and more.
For all of them, the same basic

this one that you like to visit regularly.
At the very top of the browser is
an address bar. In here you type the
address of the website you wish to

How, though, do you find a site
that you don t know a nd can t guess?
Search Engines are websites that
allow you to search for topics you are
The most popular by far is Google.
Using Google has spawned the term,
"to Google it!"
All of them --Bing, Yahoo, etc --

the topics in which you are interested

and it will return with a list of
websites containing those words.

Radio broadcaster John Laws, like many of us, is
a big fan of country food: "When you read The
Country Show Cookbook, you will see why I have
a love of country cooking," he says.
The collection of traditional country recipes -- some
with a twist -- includes cakes, biscuits, slices, jams,
marmalades and desserts, so you'll be able to cook
up a real country feast.
Proceeds from the book will go toward supporting
individual show societies and assisting country areas.
